KOTA KINABALU: The combination of new and old candidates for the United Progressive United Organization (UPKO) party is a strong combination to help ensure the victory of Warisan Plus in the 16th Sabah State Election (PRN), on Sept 26.
UPKO Vice President Datuk Ewon Benedick said, all the UPKO candidates who have been featured each with various academic backgrounds have their own strength to garner votes.
“I am confident that the young candidates of UPKO have new ideas to develop in their respective areas and Sabah as a whole,” he said after the Launching Ceremony of the Warisan Plus’ Vision and Mission and the Announcement of the Warisan Plus Candidates in 16th Sabah PRN, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here, today.
Ewon, who will be contesting for the N11 Kadamaian state constituency, hopes that the people of Sabah can make wise choices and give solid support to the Warisan Plus candidates to ensure the continuity of development in the state.
UPKO is also featuring a woman candidate, Georgina L. who is a Deputy Secretary General for N38 Paginatan seat.
UPKO President Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau will be contesting for the N15 Kiulu seat, together with Datuk Dr Lucas Umbul (N43 Kemabong), Secretary General Nelson W. Angang (N33 Kuala Penyu), and Treasurer General Datuk Dr Laurentius Nayan Ambu who is also the former Director of the Sabah Wildlife Department (N39 Tambunan).
Also contesting are UPKO Youth Chief Felix Joseph Saang for the N47 Telupid seat, Junsim Rumunzing (N2 Bengkoka); Padis Majingkin (N7 Tandek); Albert Aguir (N46 Nabawan), Dennis Tweening Rantau (N49 Labuk) and Benson Inggam (N 57 Kuamut).
